Techniques
There are two main techniques that i learned while doing this exercise. One of them is bevel. This helps to get rid of the sharp and dead edge that the primitive shapes have when we construct them. The second one is boolean difference. This helps to create the hole in the "pyramid" above. I also learned that deleting nodes helps to get rid of effects like bevel from the primitive. Besides that, i also learned that dividing an object into many sections will allow us to manipulate its shape as well.
Reflection
As we can see from the screenshots, this exercise has taught me to make edges more blunt so as to achieve a more realistic look overall. Also, i have learned that all theses techniques are simple yet effective in improving my modelling skills. This exercise has also solved a little part of the mystery regarding how i can manipulate primitive shapes to become more complicated shapes.
